 Cousin, Jake Kindsfather:

Frank was stationed in Germany at the same time as my dad. We did not live for apart. Every Sunday we would have Frank over to eat dinner with all of us.

One time his squadron had a trip planned to go to Paris France. They had a couple of seats that had not been filled on the bus. I was in High school, and Frank asked me to join him on the trip. I jumped at the chance. Eventually, we found ourselves on top of the Eiffel Tower when Frank, looking at me said “This sure is a long way from Omaha Texas, Jacob”. It was a trip we both remembered forever.

I have brief "snapshots" of good times with Frankie while my family was stationed in Germany. And much to our delight, Frankie, a military man himself, was stationed there, too! I was just a child (2-5 yrs. old) while we were in Germany. But I remember Frankie visiting as often as he could, and my brother and sister practically lived for the times he would walk through our door. He was FAMILY! IN GERMANY! And boy did we love our Frankie. I'm sure Jan and Jakie have recounted plenty of their adventures with him; going all the way back to their childhood summers spent on Mama and Papa's farm in Omaha. To Germany and all through their lives Frankie has remained SO CLOSE to our family. And he has remained SO GOOD to our family. Nephew, Joe Galloway: Absolutely the best memory the JR Galloway family had of Frank was the infamous “speeding stop.” It must have been 1966 - we were moving from Glasgow, MT to Kansas City, Missouri and still had a camper that Willie Jo and JR had bought in California. On our way to Kansas City, we of course needed to visit family in Texas- first stop was Frank, Edith, and kids in Dallas. I remember giving one of the kids a ride on a bike and Aunt Edith making us a wonderful breakfast. We then said our goodbyes and loaded up - next stop Omaha! Somewhere in Dallas soon after we left, mom told dad to slow down, he was speeding. The next thing we know, sirens and flashing lights indicated that Dad was getting pulled over by a policeman. He told Mom he hadn’t been speeding as he got out to see what was going on. Looking back, I couldn’t recognize the police officer, but Mom thought it was Frank.  We all found out together when they hugged —wonder what the passing motorists tho...
